Wings Etc. Topeka location wins ‘Best Wings’ award fifth year in a row
The community has voted Wings Etc. into the top slot in the Topeka Capital-Journal’s Community’s Choice “Best Wings” category every year since the location opened in 2020
FORT WAYNE, Ind.—Wings Etc. Grill & Pub in Topeka, Kansas, is proud to continue its winning streak. The popular sports bar has been open for five years and has been voted “Best of the Best” in the wings category each of those five years in the annual Community’s Choice Awards hosted by the Topeka Capital-Journal.
Franchise owner Dave Clingenpeel attributes the ongoing success to the quality of the brand’s traditional and boneless wings and the variety of sauces and rubs that deliver “Big Flavor.”
“Our guests love the crispiness of our wings and our broad selection of 19 sauces and rubs,” said Clingenpeel. “Whatever their tastes, from sweet to savory and hot to mild, everyone can find a favorite here at Wings Etc.”
Dave and Cara Clingenpeel opened their Wings Etc. location in June 2020 and won their first Topeka Capital-Journal “Best Wings” award just a few months later. In 2021, the restaurant was also named “Twisted Wing King” by fans during the annual Topeka Wing Fling one-day event after mixing two popular sauces—mild sauce and lime-pepper rub—and presenting the blend at the event.
Voting for the Community’s Choice Awards was open to the public. Clingenpeel is grateful to the Topeka community for its ongoing support.
“We’re honored to be recognized for the past five years and gratified that our efforts and that of our staff haven’t gone unnoticed,” Clingenpeel said.
“Wings Etc. is proud of the Topeka franchise and its success in the community,” said CEO Rob Hensmann. “We always seek to deliver on the ‘Big Flavor’ promise that we make to guests, and this is proof that we’re meeting and exceeding expectations.”
Wings Etc. is located at 2139 SW Fairlawn Plaza Drive in Topeka. The location is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m.
