June Was So Nice, Wings Etc. Is Doing It Twice: BOGO Wings Return for Football Season
Wings Etc. saw increased traffic, orders and average guest checks when it tested the promotion during the FIFA World Cup June 23-27.
FORT WAYNE, Ind. — With the kickoff of college football August 29 and the NFL season beginning shortly thereafter, Wings Etc. Grill & Pub is bringing back buy-one-get-one-free orders of wings as well as specials on schooners Tuesday, Aug. 25, through Saturday, Aug. 29.
The brand debuted the promotion in June for the FIFA World Cup; Wings Etc. leadership sought to evaluate guest response and behavioral trends against their usual June Wing-Schooner promotion.

The offer delivered strong results, including a 17.2 percent increase in traffic compared with the same period in 2025. Orders were up 7.4 percent over 2025. Promotional schooner sales were up 3 percent compared with the previous Wing-Schooner promotion, helping drive beverage sales and improve the average guest check, which saw a 15 percent increase.
The simplicity and value of the buy-one-get-one offer sparked positive feedback. “Guests viewed the promotion as an opportunity to visit Wings Etc. rather than simply purchase discounted wings,” said Wings Etc. COO Chuck Moore. “Repeating the promotion in August will allow us to gather comparable performance data and continue evaluating the BOGO strategy as part of our long-term promotional calendar.”
Strategically, the promotion launches one of the most important sports-viewing seasons of the year for Wings Etc.
“Our guests love the game-day atmosphere in our restaurants,” said Wings Etc. CEO Rob Hensmann. “So we’re serving up specials this fall on our award-winning wings and ice-cold schooners of domestic beer to make our promise of Good Food, Great Times even more affordable.”
The promotion comes as Wings Etc. prepares to launch a new limited-time offer: a Ranch Flight starting Tuesday, September 15, that will include two brand-new ranch options. It’s one more way guests can mix and match to personalize their order. The brand introduced a new Honey BBQ sauce in April; Wings Etc. offers guests more than 20 sauces, dips and rubs for endless customization.
At the same time, Wings Etc. is executing on its Perfect Wing strategy, refining details such as cook times, oil quality, sauce coverage and presentation to bring the freshest, best-tasting and most appealing wings to the table.
Wings Etc. will market the August BOGO wings promotion with strong, simple messaging that amplifies Big Flavor, opportunities for flavor personalization, big-screen TVs showing all the games and opportunities for group gatherings in a family-friendly environment.
Marketing tactics will include digital advertising, radio and social media. In addition to paid media, the brand is using email, app push notifications and organic social. In restaurants, Wings Etc. is promoting the offer via Atmosphere TV and by hanging pre-promo signage to create early awareness, since many guests visit one to two times per month. This increases the likelihood of driving a second (or third) visit during the promotional window.
The brand expects the promotion to provide a strong start that will carry forward through the fall season.
“We’re marking the return of fall sports with a value-based offer that delivers everything our guests enjoy about the season: great food and excellent value in a welcoming and exciting atmosphere,” Hensmann said.
