Missouri Wings Etc. Location Supporting Olympic Bid with Portion of Sales from Meal

20 percent of profits from Champions Choice meal will go to hammer throw star Logan Blomquist

FORT WAYNE, Ind.— The Wings Etc. sports bar and grill franchise in Jackson, Mo., is helping a young person’s Olympic dreams take flight. Owner Joe Hobbs is committing 20 percent of profits from a menu item called the Champions Choice to Southeast Missouri State University 2022 D1 NCAA Hammer Throw champion Logan Blomquist in his quest to participate in the U.S. Olympic Trials in June 2024.

Blomquist is seeking financial support for the cost of travel, food and lodging associated with competing at sanctioned track and field events toward his goal of taking part in the Olympic Trials at the University of Oregon in June. He hopes to join the U.S. track and field team at the Summer Games July–August 2024 in Paris.

The Jackson, Mo., Wings Etc. location is serving the Champions Choice now through June 1. Priced at $19.67, it includes 10 boneless wings, French fries, five onion rings laid on top in Olympic ring fashion and a soft drink. Twenty percent of profits will go to Blomquist, who is also raising money through a GoFundMe page.

“We’re thrilled to help bring Logan’s dreams to life,” says Wings Etc. CEO Rob Hensmann. “This is right in line with our mission: to provide a sports bar experience that results in happier people, deeper relationships and stronger communities.”

“It’s a pretty big deal around here,” says Hobbs, owner and operator of the Jackson, Mo., franchise. “We’re cheering on Logan every step of the way.”
