Wabash Wings Etc. to donate portion of sales to 12-year-old boy diagnosed with Lymphoma

Wings Etc. Wabash location to donate 20 percent of fundraiser-related food and soft drink sales on Aug. 12, 2021

WABASH, Ind. (July 16, 2021)— On Thursday, Aug. 12, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., the Wings Etc. Grill & Pub location in Wabash, Indiana, will hold a Dine to Donate fundraiser for a local 12-year-old, Rocky Judy, who was recently diagnosed with Lymphoma––a type of cancer. Twenty percent of fundraiser-associated sales will be donated to help the Judy family.

Wings Etc. Wabash General Manager Tina Floor said giving back to the community is fundamental to the Wings Etc. mission.

“The community is absolutely pulling together for this family,” said Floor. “They need support, and our Wabash Wings Etc. franchise is committed to being part of that support.”

Judy, who attends school locally in Wabash, faces a long road to recovery. He began chemotherapy at the end of June and will receive treatment every two weeks at Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis. Each treatment requires a five-day hospital stay. Between chemotherapy treatments, Judy will have blood tests twice weekly. Doctors have told the family that this treatment plan will continue for at least six months.

Because of the scheduling demands related to treatments, Judy’s mother cannot work, so Floor noted that fundraisers such as the Wings Etc. Dine to Donate event are essential.

“When tragedies like this happen, especially to a young person, it’s great to see our community rally in support,” said Floor. “Wings Etc. Wabash franchise owners Bryan and April Burcroff are committed to helping Rocky Judy and his family and see it as part of their mission to build a stronger community.”

Interested parties can support the Judy family in a variety of ways, including a visit to the Wabash Wings Etc. location on Thursday, Aug. 12, between 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Twenty percent of all dine-in and carry-out pre-taxed food and soft drink sales will go directly to Rocky Judy and his family. During the visit, Wings Etc. asks that guests show a server or bartender their Dine to Donate flyer for the event, which can be picked up prior to Aug. 12 at the Wabash Wings Etc. location at 1439 N. Cass St.
