Wings Etc. Asks “Which ‘Fest Is Best?” In Octoberfest Seasonal Beer Promotion

Sam Adams® Octoberfest and Yuengling® Oktoberfest To Be Featured this Fall

FORT WAYNE, Ind., Friday, Aug. 23, 2019 — While many celebrate Autumn because of the return of pumpkin spice latte season, Wings Etc. Grill & Pub customers get pumped for the best crisp, seasonal specialty beers. This Fall, there’s added anticipation.

From late August through October, participating Wings Etc. locations will let two popular Octoberfest beers—Samuel Adams® Octoberfest and Yuengling® Oktoberfest—battle for the love and loyalty of their specialty-beer-loving customers. The promotion asks Wings Etc. guests: “Which ‘Fest Is Best?” While Sam Adams Octoberfest is the more established, multiregional beer and is a seasonal favorite at Wings Etc., Yuengling’s Oktoberfest is a relative newcomer in many of the states where Wings Etc. Grill & Pub operates and is seeing seasonal sales momentum.

“We don’t think it will turn into a ‘one-or-the-other’ choice among our guests,” said Robert Hensmann, Wings Etc., Inc. CEO. “People really love beer options and offering more than one Octoberfest beer means more opportunities for tasting, comparing, recommending. It’s part of the continuing interest in specialty beers and will likely play out on social media channels, with lots of photos and even more opinions. It might be fun to watch.” If he has a favorite between the two October seasonals, Hensmann isn’t saying. “I like a lot of beer styles, and even do some of my own home brewing. Both of these Octoberfests are excellent, and our customers are anxious to enjoy them.”

If Octoberfest beers aren’t a guest’s preference, Hensmann says there a many more options at Wings Etc. “Each of our pubs have a minimum of 40 domestic, import and craft beer selections in bottles or on tap, and those selections are decided locally, by the people who own and operate each location. If you’re not an Octoberfest lover, we have dozens of other choices,” said Hensmann.

The “Which ‘Fest Is Best?” showdown starts and ends with seasonal availability. “Both of these beers start becoming available in late August, and sell until supplies run out in late October,” says Hensmann. “We think, through promoting the two brands, we’ll see more interest in seasonal Octoberfest beer than in recent years—and that’s pretty exciting for everyone.” Both beers will be available at Wings Etc. locations in Alabama, Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina and Tennessee.
