Wings Etc. Gaffney owners raising funds to help surviving Phillips family members

On Oct. 11-13, Wings Etc. Gaffney will donate 10 percent of all food and soft drink sales to the Phillips family, who lost three beloved members within a six-day period last month.

GAFFNEY, S.C. (Oct. 4, 2021)— A Gaffney family tragedy has compelled local sports bar owners to organize a fundraiser for the dates of Monday, Oct. 11 through Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2021.

In mid-September, news spread of the deaths of three Gaffney family members: Metz (71), Renee (62), and John (34) Phillips, all of whom died of complications from COVID-19. Upon hearing the news of the tragedy, Heidi and Mackie Flood, owners of the Wings Etc. Gaffney, S.C. franchise, felt compelled to organize a “Dine To Donate“ event at their local pub. During the three-day fundraiser, Wings Etc. Gaffney will donate 10 percent of all non-alcohol sales to help Gaffney native Tim Phillips (brother of John, and son of Metz and Renee) with medical bills and final expenses.

“We are deeply saddened by this heartbreaking loss in our community,” said Heidi Flood. “Tim and his wife Erica and daughter Isabel are in our thoughts, and we are committed to helping as much as possible.”

Those interested in helping Wings Etc. raise money for the Phillips family in their time of need can visit Wings Etc. Gaffney at 1541 W. Floyd Baker Blvd. in Gaffney on Oct. 11-13 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Ten percent of all food and non-alcoholic beverages through dine-in and carry-out orders during the Dine to Donate will be directly donated to Tim Phillips and his family.
