Wings Etc. Grill & Pub to open in Columbus just in time for big OSU vs. Notre Dame home game

Wings Etc. Columbus will open on Aug. 30 and is conveniently located just a few blocks from Ohio Stadium, home of the Ohio State University Buckeyes football team

COLUMBUS, Ohio (Aug. 26, 2022)— On Aug. 30, Wings Etc. Columbus will open just in time for the Ohio State University vs. Notre Dame football game scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 3. Franchisees and Columbus residents Mike and Jennifer McGee are excited to open and serve the Columbus area. Located just a few blocks from Ohio Stadium, the McGees hope to be the go-to spot for sports fans.

“Wings Etc. Columbus is located in the Grandview area and gives residents a great option for sports viewing,” said Mike McGee. “We specifically chose the Grandview area because we wanted to be part of the growth there. We’re excited to open August 30 and become part of the community—and the timing couldn’t be better!”

McGee noted that Wings Etc., known for its jumbo Buffalo wings and dozens of large HDTVs perfectly positioned for multi-game viewing, has a wide variety of menu options to accommodate all guests.

“What really stood out about Wings Etc. was the food,” said McGee. “Jennifer and I researched a lot of franchises, but the food was better by far at Wings Etc. The chicken wings are very meaty, but we also loved the relaxed atmosphere. When we tried Wings for ourselves, it felt like a very laid-back place to eat, have fun, and go home. Plus, there are a lot of menu options.”

While Wings Etc. will be McGee’s first self-owned business, he is no stranger to the food industry. McGee began his career in food in 1991 and has worked in restaurants since. For the past 12 years, McGee lived between Ohio and Indiana as part of his work with a national restaurant chain. After moving back to the Columbus area with their children, Mike and Jennifer decided it was time for them to go into business for themselves. The couple plan to be at the restaurant daily.

“This is a family business,” said McGee. “Our daughter will also be a part of the restaurant. We want people to get to know us and feel comfortable giving us feedback. We are also very excited to partner with our community for fundraisers. We already have a fundraiser set up with our local fire and EMS, and some of our local schools. Being involved in the community and being part of the growth here is very important to us.”

The new Wings Etc. Grill & Pub is located at 775 Grandview Yard Street in Columbus, Ohio, and will open at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 30. McGee said a ribbon cutting with the Columbus Chamber of Commerce is also planned.
