Wings Etc. tests a new Habanero Hot Honey sauce on its signature Crispy Chicken Sandwich in three Southeast Missouri locations

Wings Etc. locations in Cape Girardeau, Dexter and Jackson, Missouri, are testing a new Habanero Hot Honey sauce on a Crispy Chicken Sandwich

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Feb. 1, 2024) – It may be cold and gray outside, but Wings Etc. is bringing the heat with a bit of sweet to its three Southeast Missouri restaurants. For a limited time, Wings Etc. is testing a new Habanero Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich at locations in Cape Girardeau, Dexter and Jackson, Missouri.

The new sandwich begins with Wings Etc.’s popular crispy chicken breast, and is kicked up with new house-made Habanero Hot Honey Sauce. The sauce incorporates two of Wings Etc.’s 21 signature wing toppings: peppery “TNT” sauce and fresh-made, habanero “Wall” sauce. The combination of those fiery flavors with honey and other select spices yields a sweet-spicy (“swicy”) sauce that the 80-unit bar and grill brand believes will be a hit with flavor seekers. The test sandwich is served on a toasted brioche roll with lettuce, tomato, pickle, and a side of fries.

“Wings Etc. is about bringing crave-worthy flavors to our guests, and we’re long-term players in the chicken sandwich wars,” says Wings Etc. CEO Rob Hensmann. “Fried chicken sandwiches and chicken sandwiches with sweet-heat are a top trend[1], and we continue to create intriguing ways to satisfy the demand. Our take on hot honey—blending honey with two of our signature hot sauces—is a unique and delicious take on the ‘swicy’ trend. We’re already seeing encouraging results from early trial, with very enthusiastic guest feedback.”

The Habanero Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich is available for lunch and dinner for a limited time.
